For many of us, some of the greatest influences for our love of cooking and food has been a mother figure, and If you’ve never been taught, building a cooking habit can seem pretty daunting.
I remember growing up I learn most of my cooking skills in my mothers kitchen. But of school holidays I spent visiting my grandmother in Thailand, Bangkok. My grandmother created the most wonderful flavors traditional dishes, which is based on ancient country culture in Thailand. Here is where I remember pounding marble mortal and pestle with Thai spices to create chili paste for curries.
Her kitchen was filled with love and she inspires me to cook from the heart, which I hope to pass on to my daughter.
