Do you often joke around that ‘you’re a terrible cook” while you’re scoffing down some delicious meal at a friend or yet from another Chinese takeout container? Or do you always say I should really learn how to cook but I don’t have time.

For many of us, some of the greatest influences for our love of cooking and food has been a mother figure, and If you’ve never been taught, building a cooking habit can seem pretty daunting.

I remember growing up I learn most of my cooking skills in my mothers kitchen. But of school holidays I spent visiting my grandmother in Thailand, Bangkok. My grandmother created the most wonderful flavors traditional dishes, which is based on ancient country culture in Thailand. Here is where I remember pounding marble mortal and pestle with Thai spices to create chili paste for curries.

Her kitchen was filled with love and she inspires me to cook from the heart, which I hope to pass on to my daughter.

Here I would like to share some of our Thai traditional recipes that was passed on from many generations.
